Welcome Our New Seminarian
Dear Friends,
One of the great joys of life at St. Peter's is our ability to partner with the University of the South in many ways. One of the most important is that we serve as a field-ed site for seminarians. It has been a blessing to welcome seminarians to St. Peter’s over the last two years, and I'm pleased to announce that next year we will have yet another among us. Her name is Lathrop Mosley, and she comes to us from the Diocese of Upper South Carolina.
You can read more about her in the bio below. You can also be on the lookout for her as she will attend services on a number of Sundays between now and late January, when she'll officially begin her time with us! I know that you will give her a warm welcome.
God bless,
Fr. Quinn+
Lathrop says, "I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. I attended Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Before attending seminary, I spent most of my life working in higher education at Converse College and then Wofford College. My sending parish is St. Christopher’s in Spartanburg, South Carolina. While at St. Christopher’s I was a Lay Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and Verger. I have also served as Senior Warden and as a Delegate to Diocesan Convention. I have three basset hounds, Annabelle, Beauregard, and Hampton, who are living their best senior hound lives in South Carolina on a farm with many other hound friends.
When I am not studying, I enjoy reading fun books, spending time with friends, and watching movies. I am excited to join St. Peter’s and I look forward to meeting each and every one of you as well as sharing in the life of the parish for the next year. While I am looking forward to worshiping with you all and learning from you all, I am also excited about sharing in the life of the school, as I currently feel called to be in a parish with a school, much like St. Peter’s."
